  • 50 g ready-to-eat dried apricots, finely chopped
  • 25 g pecans, finely chopped
  • 30 g pitted dried dates, finely chopped
  • 50g sweetened dried cranberries, roughly chopped
  • 2 medium-sized Granny Smiths, peeled, seeded and very finely chopped or grated
  • 50g light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 25g butter, melted and cooled
  • 2 tbsp cherry brandy or orange juice
  • 250 g flour
  • 40g powdered sugar
  • 125g butter
  • 150g white marzipan
  • Powdered sugar or powdered sugar for sprinkling

Preparation steps

For the filling, put all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Cover and leave in the refrigerator overnight.
To make the dough, place the flour, confectioners’ sugar, and butter in a food processor and process until the mixture resembles fine breadcrumbs.
Add 8-9 teaspoons of cold water to the food processor and process until the mixture forms a dough.
liHeat the oven to 190°C/170°C fan/gas 5.
Roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thick and cut out circles large enough to completely line your tart pan.
Fill each tart with a heaping teaspoon of the fruit mixture.
Roll out the marzipan and cut out 18 circles using a 4cm round cutter.
liPlace a slice of marzipan on each cake.
Bake in the oven until crispy and golden brown, about 12-15 minutes.
Sprinkle with powdered or powdered sugar before serving warm.
