Packed with flavorful ingredients like balsamic vinegar, olive oil, Dijon mustard, basil leaves, red onion, and sun-dried tomatoes, this dressing offers a unique combination of nutrients that can improve your overall health.

balsamic vinegar

Balsamic vinegar, one of the main ingredients in sweet sun-dried tomato dressing, contains a compound called polyphenols. These antioxidants have anti-inflammatory properties that may help reduce the risk of chronic diseases such as heart disease and diabetes. Balsamic vinegar also promotes digestion and helps regulate blood sugar levels.

olive oil

The olive oil used in this dressing, which comes from a jar of dried tomatoes, is rich in monounsaturated fats. These healthy fats can improve heart health, lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of stroke. Olive oil also contains vitamin E, an antioxidant that supports healthy skin and boosts the immune system.

Dijon mustard

Dijon mustard adds a tangy flavor to the dressing and also offers health benefits. Mustard seeds, the main ingredient in Dijon mustard, are rich in minerals such as selenium, magnesium and phosphorus, which are essential for maintaining healthy bones and teeth. Additionally, mustard seeds contain compounds called isothiocyanates, which have been shown to have anti-cancer properties.

Basil leaves

Basil leaves not only add a refreshing taste to the dressing but also provide several health benefits. They are a good source of vitamin K, which plays an important role in blood clotting and bone health. Basil leaves also contain essential oils such as eugenol, which has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Red onion

Red onions, packed with antioxidants, give the dressing a subtle bite. These antioxidants help reduce the risk of chronic diseases, support a healthy immune system, and have anti-inflammatory effects. Red onions are also a good source of vitamin C, which contributes to healthy skin and boosts collagen production.

Sun-dried tomatoes

This dressing’s star ingredient, sun-dried tomatoes, provides a concentrated nutritional boost. Dried tomatoes are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that protects against certain cancers, reduces the risk of heart disease and promotes healthy skin. They are also a good source of vitamins A and C, iron and fiber.
