  • 450 g salmon fillets or firm white fish, e.g. B. Cod
  • 1½ tbsp finely chopped fresh ginger root
  • 3 tbsp finely chopped spring onions
  • 2 tbsp light soy sauce
  • 2 tsp dark soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp peanut oil
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • a handful of fresh coriander sprigs for garnish

Preparation steps

  1. Pat the fish dry with kitchen paper
  2. Cut the fish into very large pieces
  3. Place the fish in a heatproof bowl
  4. Sprinkle the ginger evenly over the fish
  5. Wrap the dish tightly in cling film
  6. Chill the dish in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 hours
  7. Place the bowl with the fish in the microwave
  8. Cook the fish at full power for 3-5 minutes, depending on the thickness and desired degree of doneness
  9. Remove the bowl from the microwave
  10. Wait a minute and pour off any excess liquid that may have accumulated on the plate
  11. Scatter green onions over the fish
  12. Add light and dark soy sauces to the fish
  13. Heat the two oils together in a small saucepan until very hot
  14. Pour the hot oil over the fish
  15. Scatter a handful of coriander sprigs over the mold
  16. Serve the steamed salmon immediately
