Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 small red onions, chopped
  • 2 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 500g minced turkey meat
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon hot smoked paprika powder
  • 2 tbsp soft brown sugar
  • 125 ml apple cider vinegar, plus 1 tbsp
  • 500 ml passata
  • 75 ml low-fat mayonnaise
  • 1 tbsp golden powdered sugar
  • ¼ head celeriac, peeled and grated
  • 2 carrots, grated
  • 6 small soft rolls

Preparation steps

  1. Heat the oil in a large frying pan.
  2. Add half the onions, garlic and some spices and cook for 5 minutes.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until completely browned.
  4. Add cumin, paprika, brown sugar and 125ml vinegar and cook for another 5 minutes.
  5. Add the passata and cook for another 10 minutes.
  6. Set aside and keep warm.
  7. In a mixing bowl, mix 1 tablespoon of vinegar, the mayonnaise, some spices and the powdered sugar.
  8. Add the celery, carrots and remaining onions and mix well.
  9. Serve the minced meat mixture on the rolls.
  10. Top with the celery slaw.
