Ingredients

  • 150g bar of dark chocolate, broken into pieces
  • 10 fat white marshmallows
  • white hundreds and thousands
  • plenty of milk for serving
  • 10 lollipops or cake pop sticks for serving

Preparation steps

  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil over low heat.
  2. Place the chocolate in a heatproof bowl and place on the pan. Make sure the water doesn’t touch the bottom of the bowl and gently melt the chocolate.
  3. Insert a lollipop or cake pop stick into each marshmallow.
  4. Check that the chocolate is completely melted by stirring, then scrape it into a smaller bowl.
  5. Place the white sprinkles in another small bowl.
  6. Place a rack next to the bowl with the chocolate and a sheet of baking paper next to the bowl with the sprinkles.
  7. Dip one marshmallow on the end of a stick into the chocolate, covering it completely.
  8. Lift it out, but hold it over the bowl to allow the excess chocolate to drip back in, then place it on the rack.
  9. Dip the marshmallows one at a time, then arrange them on the rack in the order you dipped them.
  10. Take the first marshmallow you dipped and dip it into the sprinkles to cover it completely.
  11. Place the snowball marshmallow on the parchment paper.
  12. Continue dipping and coating the marshmallows. Working along the line, cover them with sprinkles in the same order you dipped them in chocolate.
  13. When all the marshmallows are covered, leave them on the parchment paper until they are firm.
  14. You can now wrap the marshmallows in cellophane and tie them with ribbons if you want to give them as gifts.
  15. Alternatively, if you want to enjoy them immediately, warm 1 cup of milk per snowball in the microwave or saucepan.
  16. Use your snowball as a stirrer in each cup of milk and continue stirring until all the sprinkles, chocolate, and most of the marshmallow are melted.
  17. Check that the milk is not too hot and then drink it.
  18. Stores in cellophane bags for up to 2 weeks.
