Health Benefits of Plain Grain Bread Dough
When it comes to baking your own bread, there’s nothing better than the smell of freshly baked granary bread. Simple grain bread dough, whether for rolls or a large loaf, not only offers delicious taste but also comes with a number of health benefits. This article will explore some of the key health benefits associated with the ingredients used in this recipe.
Strong white flour
The use of strong white flour in grain bread dough provides a significant amount of carbohydrates, which are the body’s main source of energy. It also contains some important vitamins and minerals such as iron, selenium and B vitamins, which help support various body functions including metabolism and energy production.
Malted Granary Bread Flour
The addition of malted grain bread flour gives the dough a wonderfully nutty flavor and delicious texture. This type of flour is made from a combination of whole wheat flour and malt grains. Compared to normal white flour, it offers more fiber, supports digestion and promotes a healthy intestine. In addition, the presence of fiber can help control weight, control blood sugar levels, and reduce the risk of heart disease and certain cancers.
Salt and powdered sugar
While salt and powdered sugar are used in small amounts to improve the taste and texture of bread dough, it is important to note that excessive intake of these ingredients can have negative health effects. It is therefore important to enjoy grain bread in moderation and eat a balanced diet.
Easy to mix yeast
Easy-to-mix yeast, a common ingredient in bread recipes, makes dough rise easier and gives bread its airy texture. Yeast is a rich source of B vitamins, particularly B6, which plays a key role in maintaining brain health, supporting the nervous system and supporting the body’s metabolism.
Warm milk, egg and olive oil
The addition of warm milk, beaten egg, and olive oil contributes to the moisture, tenderness, and richness of the grain bread dough. These ingredients also provide important nutrients such as protein, calcium and healthy fats. Calcium helps strengthen bones and teeth, while protein is crucial for muscle repair and growth. Healthy fats from olive oil have a positive effect on heart health and make you feel full.
Warm water
Finally, all ingredients are mixed with warm water to form a kneadable dough. Adequate hydration is essential for overall health, and consuming warm water can aid digestion, boost metabolism, and improve blood circulation.
By using this basic grain bread dough recipe, you can not only enjoy the pleasure of baking your own fresh bread, but you can also benefit from the various health-promoting properties of its ingredients.
