Ingredients
- 350g self-raising flour, plus a little more for dusting
- ¼ tsp salt
- 1 teaspoon Baking powder
- 85g cold butter, cut into cubes
- 4 tbsp golden powdered sugar
- 150 g cup of natural, full-fat yogurt
- 4 tbsp whole milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg beaten with 1 tbsp milk, for glazing

Preparation steps
- Place a baking tray in the oven at 220°C/200°C fan/gas mark 7.
- Place the flour, salt and baking powder in a food processor and beat in the butter until it disappears.
- Stir in the sugar, place in a large bowl and make a well in the middle.
- Warm yogurt, milk, and vanilla together in the microwave or in a skillet for 1 minute. It should be hot and may look a little lumpy.
- Place in the bowl and quickly incorporate into the flour mixture using a cutlery knife.
- Once everything is in, stop.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and then, using floured hands, fold it over a few times – just enough to create a smooth dough.
- Press out about 4cm thick, dip a 7cm cutter in more flour, then cut out 4 rounds, flouring the cutter each time.
- Squeeze the rest lightly and then repeat until the dough is used up.
- Brush the surface with egg wash, sprinkle flour over the hot tray and place the scones on top.
- Bake for 12 minutes until the dough has risen and is golden brown.
- It’s best to eat it warm or during the day.
