Health Benefits of Sausage Ball Pasta Bake
Sausageball Pasta Bake is a delicious and satisfying dish that combines the savory flavor of sausage with the creaminess of melted mozzarella and the tang of sun-dried tomato paste. In addition to its delicious taste, this recipe also offers several health benefits. Let’s take a closer look at the nutritional value of its ingredients:
The sausage meat used in this recipe provides a good amount of protein. Protein is an essential macronutrient that helps build and repair tissue, supports muscle growth, and strengthens the immune system.
Thyme or rosemary leaves
Adding thyme or rosemary leaves not only enhances the flavor of the dish but also brings some potential health benefits. Both herbs are known for their antioxidant properties, which help reduce inflammation and protect the body from oxidative stress.
Using olive oil adds a touch of healthy fat to the dish. An important part of the Mediterranean diet, olive oil is known for its heart-healthy monounsaturated fats, which can help lower bad cholesterol and improve overall heart health.
Passata and sun-dried tomato paste
The combination of passata and sun-dried tomato paste provides a rich source of lycopene, an antioxidant that gives tomatoes their bright red color. Lycopene has been linked to various health benefits, including reduced risk of certain cancers, improved heart health, and protection against sun damage.
Fusilli or other pasta shapes
When consumed in moderation and as part of a balanced diet, pasta can be a source of carbohydrates that provide sustained energy. Opting for whole-wheat or whole-wheat pasta varieties can also provide additional fiber, vitamins and minerals.
The addition of savoy cabbage gives this dish freshness and a nutritional boost. Cabbage is low in calories but high in fiber, vitamins (such as vitamins C and K), and minerals (including potassium and manganese). It also contains antioxidants that can help reduce inflammation and improve digestion.
Mozzarella and Parmesan cheese
Using mozzarella and parmesan cheese gives the pasta bake a creamy and cheesy flavor. While cheese should be consumed in moderation due to its high calorie and fat content, it also provides calcium and protein, which are essential for healthy bones, teeth and muscles.
Overall, this Sausage Ball Pasta Bake is a flavorful and healthy dish that combines protein, healthy fats, antioxidants, and essential nutrients from its various ingredients. Eating as part of a balanced diet can contribute to a balanced and nutritious meal.
