Ingredients

  • 250g powdered sugar
  • 1 egg white, beaten
  • a few drops of peppermint essence
  • 15 chocolate sweets (we used blue and green Waitrose chocolate beans)

Preparation steps

  1. Sift the powdered sugar into a large bowl.
  2. Gradually mix in the egg whites – stop adding them when you have a soft dough that feels like plasticine.
  3. Add 3 drops of peppermint essence, mix well and season to taste. Add another drop if it’s not minty enough.
  4. Roll half of the mixture into 15 balls, about the size of cherry tomatoes, then flatten them with your hand to form the bear heads.
  5. Place on baking paper on a large board or tray.
  6. Form blueberry-sized balls out of half of the remaining mixture and press them flat on the heads to form snouts.
  7. Add chocolate candies for noses.
  8. Use the rest of the mixture for the ears.
  9. Form small balls out of it and gently press them into the top of the heads with your fingertips.
  10. Use a cocktail stick to shape the eyes.
  11. Allow the polar bears to dry for 3-4 hours or overnight.
  12. Eat within 1 month.

Health Benefits of Polar Bear Peppermint Creams

Polar Bear Peppermint Creams not only taste delicious, but also offer several health benefits. Made with simple ingredients like powdered sugar, egg whites, peppermint essence and chocolate candies, these delicious treats can be enjoyed guilt-free. Let’s take a closer look at the health benefits of each ingredient:

powdered sugar

Despite its high sugar content, powdered sugar provides a small amount of nutrients. It contains traces of calcium, iron and potassium. However, due to its high glycemic index and potential negative effects on blood sugar levels, it is important to consume powdered sugar in moderation.

protein

Egg white is one of the main ingredients in Polar Bear Peppermint Creams and is an excellent source of protein. It is low in fat and carbohydrates, making it an excellent option for individuals looking to maintain or build muscle. It also contains essential amino acids that are necessary for proper muscle repair and growth.

Peppermint essence

Peppermint essence not only gives these creams their refreshing taste but also provides several health benefits. Peppermint is known to aid digestion and relieve stomach discomfort such as indigestion, gas, and bloating. It can also have a calming effect on the body and help reduce stress and anxiety.

Chocolate candies

The chocolate used in Polar Bear Peppermint Creams, such as: B. Waitrose’s blue and green chocolate beans contain cocoa solids that are rich in antioxidants. These antioxidants help protect the body from free radicals, which can damage cells and contribute to various health problems. Dark chocolate, in particular, contains higher amounts of cocoa solids and has been linked to potential cardiovascular benefits.

When consumed in moderation, Polar Bear Peppermint Creams can be a delicious and slightly healthier alternative to other sugary sweets. However, it’s important to note that these treats should be enjoyed as an occasional treat rather than a daily staple.
