Health Benefits of Pimm’s Ice Lollies

Summer is the perfect time to cool off and enjoy a refreshing treat, but why not make it healthier? Pimm’s ice lollies are not only a delicious way to beat the heat, but they also offer some surprising health benefits.

1. Strawberries

The star of this recipe, strawberries, are packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. They are an excellent source of vitamin C, which boosts the immune system and promotes healthy skin. Strawberries are also low in calories and high in fiber, making them a safe addition to these ice lollies.

2. Mint leaves

Not only does mint add a touch of refreshing flavor to these ice lollies, but it also has health benefits of its own. Mint can aid digestion and relieve indigestion or irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). It can also help with bad breath and improve oral health.

3. Lemonade

While traditional lemonades can be high in sugar, using a homemade or low-sugar lemonade recipe can still provide a tangy taste without excessive calories. Lemons are a good source of vitamin C and can aid digestion and promote hydration.

4. Cucumber

Cucumbers are mostly water, making them a hydrating addition to these ice lollies. They’re also low in calories and a good source of vitamin K, which is important for bone health and blood clotting. Additionally, cucumbers contain antioxidants that help protect against chronic diseases.

5. Pimm’s

While Pimm’s is typically an alcoholic drink, this recipe uses a small amount purely for flavor. It’s important to note that the alcohol content in these ice lollies is likely minimal or negligible. However, if you would rather avoid alcohol altogether, you can do without it without affecting the overall taste.

6. Golden powdered sugar

Sugar should be consumed in moderation, but this recipe uses golden powdered sugar, which is less processed than refined white sugar. It adds sweetness to the ice lollies while also imparting a slightly caramelized flavor.

By incorporating these ingredients into Pimm’s ice lollies, you can enjoy a delicious frozen treat while reaping the potential health benefits. Make a batch using the recipe provided and stay cool and refreshed this summer!
