  • 50 g ready-to-eat dried apricots
  • 50g soft butter
  • 50g light brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons condensed milk (look for it in tubes)
  • 50g oat flakes
  • 85g self-raising flour

Preparation steps

  1. Preheat the oven to 150°C/130°C fan/gas 2.
  2. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
  3. Cut the apricots into small pieces using children’s scissors.
  4. Place butter and sugar in a mixing bowl and mix well with a wooden spoon.
  5. Use very soft butter so that young wrists can easily mix the butter and sugar.
  6. Add the condensed milk, mix well, then add the oat flakes and apricots and mix well again.
  7. Finally add the flour and mix until it starts to disappear – you can also mix it with your hands.
  8. Form the dough into a large ball, then break it into six equal sized clumps (this ensures the cookies bake at the same time).
  9. Roll each lump into a ball and then press it onto the baking paper with the palm of your hand.
  10. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden brown.
  11. Let cool on the tray.
  12. The cookies will last up to 3 days in an airtight container.
