  • 15 hazelnut chocolates (we used Ferrero Rocher), 5 of them coarsely chopped, the rest reserved for decorating

  3. Add the melted butter and pulse until well blended.
  4. Pour the biscuit mixture into a 23cm springform pan and press it firmly into the bottom.
  5. Cool the crust while you prepare the filling.
  6. Beat cream cheese and powdered sugar in a bowl until fluffy.
  7. Whisk cream and vanilla in a separate bowl until soft peaks form.
  8. Fold the whipped cream into the cream cheese mixture.

  13. Melt the chocolate hazelnut spread over low heat for 3-4 minutes until liquid.
  14. Allow the melted spread to cool slightly before spreading it on the cheesecake.
  15. Decorate the cheesecake with the remaining pralines and some chopped hazelnuts.

Health Benefits of No-Bake Chocolate Hazelnut Cheesecake

No-bake chocolate hazelnut cheesecake is not only a decadent and delicious dessert, but it also offers various health benefits. While it may not be the healthiest option on the market, it contains some nutritious ingredients that will have a positive impact on your overall well-being.

1. Protein boost

Cream cheese forms the base of this cheesecake and is a rich source of protein. Protein is an essential macronutrient that plays a critical role in repairing and building tissue, promoting muscle growth, and supporting a healthy immune system.

2. Nutritious hazelnuts

Not only are hazelnuts a delicious addition to this cheesecake, but they also provide several health benefits. They are rich in healthy fats, including monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, which are known to have positive effects on heart health. These fats help lower bad cholesterol levels and maintain a healthy ratio of good to bad cholesterol.

Additionally, hazelnuts are a good source of vitamin E, an antioxidant that helps protect cells from free radical damage. They also provide essential minerals such as magnesium, potassium and calcium, which are essential for maintaining healthy bones and muscles.

3. Good digestion

Digestive biscuits, a key ingredient in this cheesecake’s crust, promote the digestive process. They contain fiber, which promotes healthy digestion and prevents constipation. Fiber also helps you feel fuller for longer, avoid unnecessary snacking, and maintain a healthy weight.

4. Limited added sugar

Compared to other desserts, this chocolate hazelnut cheesecake contains a controlled amount of added sugar. The powdered sugar used in the filling adds sweetness without being overpowering. By limiting your sugar consumption, you can reduce your risk of health problems such as obesity, diabetes and tooth decay.

5. Antioxidant-rich chocolate

Dark chocolate (like the hazelnut chocolate used in this recipe) contains flavonoids, a type of antioxidant. Flavonoids have been linked to various health benefits, including reducing inflammation, improving heart health, and improving brain function. However, due to its calorie and fat content, it is important to consume chocolate in moderation.

In summary, while unbaked chocolate hazelnut cheesecake isn’t the healthiest dessert option, it still has some redeeming qualities. The addition of protein-rich cream cheese, nutritious hazelnuts, fiber-rich digestive biscuits, controlled sugar levels and antioxidant-rich chocolate gives this treat a touch of health. Remember to enjoy it in moderation as part of a balanced diet and active lifestyle.
