Ingredients

  • 2 large tomatoes, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 small red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 red chili pepper, deseeded and finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 225g paneer, cut into pieces
  • 200g natural yogurt
  • ½ cucumber, finely chopped
  • ½ small pack of mint, leaves only, roughly chopped
  • 100 g poppy seeds, chopped
  • 4-6 tsp mango chutney

Preparation steps

  1. Mix the tomatoes, onions and chili with some spices in a bowl to make a salsa and then set aside.
  2. Heat the oil in a frying pan and fry the paneer on both sides until golden brown.
  3. Make a raita from yogurt, cucumber and most of the mint and season with a little salt.
  4. Place the crushed pappadums in a large bowl, pour the raita over them, followed by the salsa, and then top with the paneer.
  5. Pour a spoonful of chutney over it, sprinkle the remaining mint over it and stir everything in.
