  • 200g pack of bread mix
  • 8 sausages
  • 1 tbsp grainy mustard
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 red onions, cut into wedges
  • 2 tbsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • 4 tbsp grated cheese

Preparation steps

  1. Prepare the bread mixture according to package directions.
  2. Heat a large non-stick pan.
  3. Fry the sausages briefly, remove and set aside.
  4. Roll out the dough and cut it into 4 diamond-shaped shapes, each 12 cm long (you may need to roll out the excess again to make the final dough).

  7. Place 2 sausages in the middle, then fold the bottom tip up and place the two side tips on top of each other.
  8. Press to seal, then brush with egg and place on a baking sheet.
  9. Let rise for 5-10 minutes and then bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  10. While the pies are baking, pour out most of the fat from the pan in which you cooked the sausages, then fry the onions for 10 minutes until they begin to soften and caramelize.
  11. Add sugar and vinegar and cook for another 10 minutes.
  12. Serve the pies with the sticky onions and ketchup, if desired.
