  • 1 tbsp liquid glucose
  • 125ml water

  5. Continue stirring, pouring in the hot syrup evenly in a stream.
  6. Continue beating until the mixture is thick enough to spread.
  7. Stir in the sifted powdered sugar.
  8. Quickly spread the glaze onto an 18-23cm square or round cake (covered with marzipan if desired) and toss roughly.
  9. Glue the candy canes to the icing.
  10. Let the cake set for 1 hour.
