Nutritional highlights
Baked potatoes, the main ingredient of pommes braytoises, are a nutrient-dense food rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber and essential minerals. These potatoes ensure consistent energy release, promote digestive health and help in weight control. They are also rich in vitamin C, which supports the immune system and contributes to collagen formation.
Camembert cheese, used liberally in pommes braytoises, is a good source of protein, calcium and phosphorus. Protein is essential for building and repairing tissue, while calcium and phosphorus work together to strengthen bones and teeth. Additionally, this cheese contains vitamin B12, which plays a crucial role in producing red blood cells and maintaining a healthy nervous system.
The cooked ham in this dish is a tasty source of protein that is low in fat and rich in vitamins and minerals, including iron, zinc and B vitamins. It is low in calories and fat while being rich in antioxidants and phytonutrients. Mustard seeds are said to have anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer properties as well as a possible cholesterol-lowering effect.
