The basmati rice used in this recipe is a long-grain rice variety known for its aromatic scent and unique nutty flavor. It is a healthier alternative to regular white rice because it has a lower glycemic index, meaning it is digested and absorbed more slowly, resulting in a more gradual rise in blood sugar levels. In addition, basmati rice is a good source of energy and provides complex carbohydrates that fuel your body and brain.
The recipe calls for vegetable oil, which is a healthier option than other types of oil high in saturated fats. It contains monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, called “good fats,” which may help lower bad cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. Vegetable oil is also rich in vitamin E, an antioxidant that protects your cells from damage caused by free radicals.
Garlic and red chili
Garlic and red chillies not only enhance the flavor of the dish but also provide several health benefits. Garlic has anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties that can boost your immune system and fight off infections. It may also have a positive effect on your cardiovascular health by lowering blood pressure and cholesterol levels. On the other hand, red chili contains capsaicin, a compound that can boost metabolism and help with weight control.
The eggs in this recipe are a good source of high-quality protein. Protein is essential for building and repairing tissue and maintaining healthy hair, nails and skin. Eggs also contain essential amino acids, healthy fats, and various vitamins and minerals, including vitamin D, vitamin B12, and selenium.
Peas are full of nutrients and are therefore a healthy addition to this dish. They are an excellent source of fiber, which aids digestion and promotes bowel movement regularity. Peas also provide vitamins A, C and K as well as minerals such as potassium and iron. These nutrients support immune function, promote collagen production, and contribute to overall bone health.
Not only do scallions add a fresh and mild onion flavor to the dish, they also provide several health benefits. They are a rich source of vitamin C, which boosts the immune system and supports collagen production. Green onions also contain compounds with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, which may reduce the risk of chronic diseases.
Shrimp is a lean source of protein that is low in calories and fat. They are also rich in omega-3 fatty acids, which are thought to have various health benefits, including improving heart health and reducing inflammation.
