Ingredients

  • 500g pack of bread mix
  • Oil, for greasing
  • 8 good quality sausages, cooked and cooled according to package instructions
  • some flour for dusting
  • 50g garlic butter, melted
  • 6 spring onions, finely chopped
  • 200 g mature cheddar, grated

Preparation steps

  1. Prepare the bread mixture according to package directions.
  2. Place the bread mixture in a warm place to rise in a bowl covered with oiled plastic wrap.
  3. Cut the boiled sausages into slices about 1 cm thick.

Rolling and Stuffing

  1. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface into a rectangle measuring approximately 50 x 30 cm.
  2. Spread the rolled out dough with half of the garlic butter.
  3. Scatter green onions, cheese and sausage over the dough.
  4. Roll up the dough tightly from one of the longest sides, similar to a Swiss roll.
  5. Cut the rolled out dough into 12 pieces with a sharp, floured knife.

Assemble and bake

  1. Wipe the holes of a 12-hole muffin tin with some melted butter.
  2. Place a roll of bread, cut side up, in each hole of the muffin tin.
  3. Pat the remaining garlic butter over the top of each bun.
  4. Cover the muffin tin loosely with oiled cling film and place in a warm place for 30 minutes to allow the rolls to rise slightly.
  5. Preheat the oven to 200°C/180°C fan/gas 6.
  6. Bake the buns for 20-25 minutes until they turn golden brown and have risen.

  2. Then take them out to eat warm or to cool completely.
