  • 1 egg

  • 4 burger buns

Preparation steps

  1. Peel the onion, cut it in half down to the root and cut off the top.
  2. Place cut side down on a cutting board.
  3. Using your knife, cut three slices through the onion parallel to the board, leaving the root intact.
  4. Using the tip of a knife, cut the onion four times from top to bottom at the root end.
  5. Hold the root end and cut it into small cubes.
  6. Place the beef, onion and egg in a bowl and mix.
  7. Divide the mixture into four parts.
  8. Lightly moisten your hands.

  16. Cook until meat is lightly charred, 5 minutes.
  17. Don’t move them or they might stick.
  18. Oil the other side and then turn it over with tongs.
  19. Do not press on the meat, otherwise the meat juices will be squeezed out.
  20. Cook over medium heat for another 5 minutes.
  21. If you like your burgers pink in the middle, cook 1 minute less on each side.
  22. For a good cooking time, let it cook for another 1 minute.
  23. Take the burgers off the grill.
  24. Let it rest on a plate so that all the juice can settle.
  25. Cut each bun in half.
  26. Place cut side down on grill grate and roast until lightly charred, 1 minute.
