  • 1-2 onions, finely chopped
  • large handful of coriander leaves, chopped
  • Bag of lightly salted tortilla chips
  • large handful of grated cheddar
  • 200 g chopped canned tomatoes

Canned vegetables are really convenient, but you can also make this salsa with fresh vegetables. Crush 6 medium tomatoes, then cook 2 ears of corn in boiling water for a few minutes until the kernels turn pale yellow and soft. Remove from the water and let cool. Cut off the seeds with a knife, mix with the tomato and continue with the recipe as above.

Preparation steps

  1. Score the avocado lengthwise and around the stone, then twist and separate the two halves.
  2. Scoop out the stone.
  3. Using a sharp knife, make diagonal cuts along one half.
  4. Then make the cuts in the other direction so that you end up with a crisscross effect.
  5. Run a large spoon over the peel, loosening the avocado pieces.
  6. Do the same with the other half.
  7. Heat the grill to the highest level.
  8. Mix the avocado with the corn, tomatoes (also add their juice), onions and chopped coriander.
  9. Arrange some tortilla chips on a baking sheet.
  10. Put some salsa on each chip.
  11. Sprinkle everything with cheese.

These delicious Sweet Corn and Tomato Anytime Nachos will not only satisfy your taste buds but also provide several health benefits. Packed with nutritious ingredients, this recipe is a great choice for a quick and easy snack or party appetizer.

1. Avocado

The inclusion of avocado in these nachos gives the dish a creamy and rich texture. Avocados are a great source of healthy monounsaturated fats, which can help lower bad cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease. In addition, avocados are rich in fiber, vitamins and minerals, making them beneficial for digestion and overall health.

2. Sweetcorn

The sweet corn used in this recipe adds a special flavor and gives the nachos a bright yellow color. Sweet corn is an excellent source of fiber, which aids digestion and helps maintain a healthy weight. It is also rich in antioxidants, which protect the body from damage caused by harmful free radicals.

3. Onion

Finely chopped onions not only enhance the flavor of the salsa but also provide several health benefits. Onions contain phytochemicals with anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties that promote heart health and reduce the risk of chronic disease. Additionally, onions are a good source of vitamin C, which supports the immune system and collagen production.

4. Coriander leaves

These chips are typically made from whole grains, a whole grain that is rich in fiber and essential nutrients. Whole grains can help with weight control, reduce the risk of heart disease and contribute to overall health.

6. Grated cheddar

To give the nachos a delicious and savory taste, grated cheddar cheese is used. Although cheese should be consumed in moderation due to its high fat content, it also provides important nutrients such as calcium and protein. Calcium is crucial for strong bones and teeth, while protein plays a role in muscle growth and repair.

7. Chopped tomatoes

The chopped tomatoes used in the salsa are a main ingredient in this dish. Tomatoes are rich in lycopene, a powerful antioxidant that helps protect against certain cancers and heart disease. They are also a good source of vitamin C, potassium and folic acid, contributing to a healthy diet.
